A better way to solve this dilemma is add all the items that you need, to your wishlist. This helps in 2 ways first, you can see if the price drop is real or the sellers are just tricking you (at least in amazon india there is price drop alert. I’m not sure about flipkart, for Big Bazaar online grocery shopping this is the best trick). And second, check in on wish list, keeps you away from the front page which tricks your into impulsive shopping. Please don’t buy products, you don’t need.
2. Use Comparison Shopping
In my experience, Amazon always have lower prices for almost every item when compare to Flipkart, but in times of sale, it doesn’t hurt to do comparison shopping. You never know what you can get. For web; you can use mysmartprice . And if you want to compare price on your Android device, you can use commonkart app.

3. Find Coupons – Like Amazon Free Coupon code, Free Coupon Code For Big Bazaar etc.
Rules are not clear when it comes to coupons, as indians are get more familiar with the concept of online shopping, companies don’t feel the need to incentivise them, as much as they used to do before, for example, look at mobile recharge and bill payments on paytm.

I occasionally use cashkaro before making some big purchase on Amazon.
However, I don’t see cashback website sustaining for long, even now cashkaro either partner with Amazon or Flipkart, but not both at a same time. And their definatly, decline in popularity.
5. Use price tracker
My best tip is to use a price tracker before making a big purchase. It can tell you if the item is actually sold for fat discount or it just another marketing gimmick. Earlier, I was using Buyhatke, but it’s too bloated now, and the better alternative is kampa. For instance, I was about to buy this manfrotto tripod few days back when it was available for 22k, but after seeing the price history, I decided to wait few more days, and now it’s just available for 19k.
It shows you the lowest and highest price of the product and what’s the average one. And since kampa, is dedicate to amazon, the tracking is perfect, If you are buying an international product, it also let you compare the price across all amazon websites.
So, yeah, these were some tips and tricks that might help you save some money, while you shop in the upcoming sale. If you are compulsive buyer, then I suggest you wait some time before buying checking out. Using credit card for shopping might help you to get extra rewards points and sometimes zero EMI.
